Name given to various insects of the family Aphidoidea. All are parasites of plants and cause a great harm. Some attack the leaves (such as the cabbage or peach aphid), others, the plant extremities ( on wheat or roses) and the others, the roots, like the woolly aphid that attacks the pear.
